Leadership Team

Mr. Glanville has served as STEP’s president and CEO since October 2022. A co-founder of STEP, he previously held the role of COO from the company’s inception in March 2011 before being appointed president in July 2021. He has 30 years of oilfield experience and a strong background in operations and management.

Mr. Bickley is President of the combined organization of STEP Energy Services and Sanjel Energy Services. He brings more than 31 years of experience in the energy services industry across Canadian and international markets and has held senior leadership roles spanning operations, sales and strategic marketing.

Mr. Deemter has served as STEP’s CFO since November 4, 2021. Prior to joining STEP, he spent 12 years with Trican Well Service and previously worked with two of Canada’s chartered banks in account management and risk management roles. He holds a Bachelor of Management and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.

Mr. Thompson has served as STEP’s COO since October 2022. He has over 25 years of North American oilfield experience and has held roles of increasing responsibility in operations, including manager, director, vice president and president of Canadian operations. He started his oilfield career as a drilling roughneck.

Ms. Crawford is responsible for people strategy, human resources, marketing and communications programs. She joined STEP in 2012 and has almost 20 years of marketing and communications experience, the majority in the energy services sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.

Mr. Okasha has served as STEP’s Vice President, Integration since April 2026. Prior to this role, he held the position of Vice President, Shared Services at Sanjel Energy Services. He has held senior leadership roles across people, IT, digital enablement and sustainability.

Mr. Rainville has served in sales and engineering technology leadership roles since 2021. He has over 30 years of experience in the oilfield exploration, production and service sectors, starting in drilling and completions before moving into service and sales.

Mr. Kane has served as vice president, legal and general counsel since January 2021. He has practiced law for over 15 years and has spent much of his career providing strategic legal counsel and overseeing corporate governance for large international energy services companies.

Mr. McFarlane has served as vice president, finance, since January 2023. He is a chartered accountant with over 20 years of financial and leadership experience, focusing on oil and gas services for the last 15 years.
